Lexie Gritlefeld (she/her) is driven by her love of the outdoor community and passion to protect the environment. Lexie is based in the Eastern Sierra and is the Director of California Outdoor Recreation Partnership (CORP), a non-profit collaborative of the outdoor industry in California. CORP was created to shape policy, support investments, and engage an inclusive community of outdoor participants in California around the benefits of outdoor recreation. Lexie also co-founded Talus, a digital creative agency based in California’s Sierra Nevada that illuminates our clients in the Range of Light, alongside her partner, Bryan Wuerker. Lexie helps on the side with administrative work for the agency while Bryan heads up the creative vision and content creation side of the business.
Born and raised on the edge of the Los Padres National Forest in Ojai, California, Lexie grew up with a passion for the outdoors. She graduated from Villanova Preparatory School in Ojai and earned a Bachelor's Degree with a double major in English and Political Science and minor in International & Global Studies from UC Davis.
After graduation, Lexie's first job was in Sacramento as a Field Manager at Grassroots Campaigns, Inc. (GCI), working to raise money for non-profits Sierra Club and Save The Children. Aspiring to learn the public policy process, Lexie completed internships in the Appointments Unit at the Office of Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr., the California Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development, the Capitol Office of Assemblymember Raul Bocanegra (D-Pacoima), and the District Office of Assemblymember Das Williams (D-Santa Barbara). From 2014-2017, Lexie worked for Congresswoman Julia Brownley in her local District Office in Thousand Oaks, CA. This work included Congresswoman Brownley's 2014 campaign, which was rated a Top 5 Competitive Congressional Campaign by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC).
While working for Congresswoman Brownley, Lexie discovered a passion for cause marketing and policy, primarily in the outdoor recreation, conservation, and natural resources space. In 2017, Lexie joined the team at Stacy Miller Public Affairs to work on a wide variety of cause marketing, policy, and public affairs campaigns. At the end of 2019, Lexie joined California Outdoor Recreation Partnership as their Membership Coordinator to focus on outdoor recreation and conservation policy advocacy.
After hours, Lexie is passionate about alpine and backcountry skiing, hiking/mountaineering, rock climbing, and volunteering in the community.
